I watched a video about quadcopters presented by Raffaello D'Andrea. He talks, presents, and shows how quadcopters are athletic. He does many different things to show the viewer of the video how the quadropters are athletic.
To start off, lets go more into detail of how these things work. They are inherently unstable. The quads need cameras on the ceiling to locate where the quadcopters are in space. So without the cameras locating the quadcopters in space would be useless. The cameras which are connected to a computer send the info of where the quad is in space to a computer which tells the quad to do by sending that info to a computer in the quad. That is how the quad basically works. The next thing is, that quads are able to preformed just like athletes. For example in you have a bouncy ball with a sensor in it so the camera picks the ball up in space you are able to put a tennis racket on top of a quad and throw the ball in the air and the quad will go to the ball and hit it right back to you. This is because of algorithms. So far you Know that quads are able to work on their own but these things are able to also work as a team. If you have three quads all connected to a net so the quads are holding the net with the net hanging down you are able to throw a ball(with a sensor)in the air and the quads will catch it. Then the quads are able to all fly away from each other which straitens the net which shoots the ball out of the net. Bu the thing is that the quads are able to shoot the ball right back to you. The last thing is, quads are able to preform injured like some athletes do. Like how Michael Jordan got the job done when he had the flu in an NBA game. Well these quads can do something similar. So the quads have four rotors. If you cut two of them off the quad can get the job done. The quads instead of flying still the injured quad flies with a full body spinning motion. Even like this the quad can still move around in space. After I watched this video I thought that he did a great job with the presentation. He backed up his thesis for the fact that quad are athletic. The video was very entertaining and hard to only watch once. He showed what the quads could do and by doing that he showed many ways that the quads were athletic. To conclude, he did a great job with this presentation he provided great examples to support his thesis. I recommend watching this video. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. videoLink: http://www.ted.com/talks/raffaello_d_andrea_the_astounding_athletic_power_of_quadcopters.

This was very interesting, I've never even heard of a quadcopter before so it was cool hearing its functions and all of that.
