The video "The Best Kindergarten You've Ever Seen" presented by Takaharu Tezuka I recently viewed. This video is about how the design of a Kindergarten can better the education and environment.
Tezuka starts off his presentation by showing us a picture of the Kindergarten which looks like circle of grass surrounded by a circular building and an top of the building is a deck. The Kindergarten also, has trees sticking out of it. He said that if you are a parent you know that kids like to run in circles. Tezuka says how the principle wanted the Kindergarten to be very open. Tezuki says how there are no borders between classrooms so if some kids get nervous or are mad they can go for a walk and they end up right back where they started cause its a circle. After that he says how children work better in noise and the kids show great concentration in the classroom. Each classrooms are made up of boxes turned into tables. They have small wash stations and have trees that go up through the classroom. Each building also has a skylight. Next to the kindergarten is a playground that was built so that children learn to trust each other and help each other. Tezuka also says how kids need small doses of danger. He said how they leave the kids to play on the roof and he says how kids need to tumble and get hurt cause they learn from it. Last he says that this is one attempt to change the lives of children. Tezuka's presentation was not only very good but he showed facts and backed up his topics very well also. The presentation also, had many funny moments that made me laugh. I think that they need more of these kindergartens like this all around the world to improve education all around the world. The pictures and videos in the presentation fit the topic very well. To conclude, Tezuka's presentation was great. The kindergarten has a very open concept that is outside and kids learn more and better from this kindergarten. I recommend watching this video because it is interesting and funny. Link:http://www.ted.com/talks/takaharu_tezuka_the_best_kindergarten_you_ve_ever_seen#t-540674

The video "Why the buildings of the future will be shaped by... you" I watched this week was presented by Marc Kushner. In this video he explains a lot about the true meaning of the word architect.
In the beginning of Kushner's presentation he talks about how the true meaning of architecture is the feelings you have towards it. He said how the emotion and feelings are the power of architecture. From this he says that the buildings with the same purpose can look so different because Kushner says that architecture works on the principle of a pendulum. He said on one side of the pendulum is innovation and people push until he said it completely alienates us. Than cause of that the pendulum swings to the other side which is symbolism. He says how the people are more comfortable and the architects feel good and then they push the pendulum back to innovation. Then someone named Frank Fehry created a building called the Guggenheim museum. This was a building on the innovation side and Kushner said that this building was a huge hit and that Frank was the first star architect. Buildings like this were being created everywhere. Kushner goes on and says this building was so popular because the media so successful galvanized around them that it quickly taught us that these forms mean culture and tourism. Kushner then, says how architecture had no good way of feed back and that's how ugly buildings are made. He said that he thinks we are on the greatest revolution for architecture and it is the media revolution. Kusher has a theory that if the pendulum has media added to it, it starts to swing so fast that it is on both innovation and symbolism simultaneously. Cause of this he said we can now make symbols from innovation. I thought that Kushner did a great gob explaining his theories in interesting ways. I liked how he provided pictures to show us what he was talking about also. Kusher not only had interesting information to tell but the way he presented it was the best part. The video made me laugh at times when Kusher put some jokes in the presentation. He liked comfortable up on stage to a point where he just owned it. Overall I thought that Marc Kushner's presentation on "Why the buildings of the future will be shaped by... you was a great presentation. To conclude, Kushner presented his presentation very well. He e hat the idea about the pendulum and how the media will effect the pendulum to swung so fast it can allow Innovation and symbolism to happen simultaneously. I recommend to watch this information not only for the information gained form it but the laughs you will have while watching it. In this video Richard explains how he found his 8 secrets of success and he goes into depth on how they are his best 8 reasons.
To start off , in the video Richard saying how and why he came up with the idea. He goes on and tells the viewers how he was on a plane on the way to TED and this girl comes up to him and asked him the question " what are the reasons to success?". After he heard the question he was mad because he could not answer the girls question. So after that Richard never wanted to not be able to answer that question again. So when he got to TED he realized he was surrounded by a ton of successful people and he goes on and talks to all of the people and he interviews 500 people over 7 years to come up with his 8 secrets of success. After that Richard states his reasons of success which are, passion, work, good, focus, push, serve, ideas, and lastly persist. Each of these he goes into detail about and after that he ends it on these are my 8 secrets of success. I thought that this TED talk was overall very good. I felt that he explained his point very well but I feel that there are more reasons to success than just 8. Even though I feel it needs more I liked this video a lot because of all of the time and effort put into this video and presentation. That is why he proved that you can success with only 8 things because he succeeded off of his own 8 reasons. He did a great job with his presentation and even though I feel it needs a little more to it I still did not look past the fact that it was a great presentation. To conclude, Richard presented a great presentation on the 8 reasons of success was great. He persuaded his topic very well and I recommend watching it for yourself. Even though I feel it needs a little more you may become a success of Richard St. John's 8 reasons of success. He talks, presents, and shows how quadcopters are athletic. He does many different things to show the viewer of the video how the quadropters are athletic.
To start off, lets go more into detail of how these things work. They are inherently unstable. The quads need cameras on the ceiling to locate where the quadcopters are in space. So without the cameras locating the quadcopters in space would be useless. The cameras which are connected to a computer send the info of where the quad is in space to a computer which tells the quad to do by sending that info to a computer in the quad. That is how the quad basically works. The next thing is, that quads are able to preformed just like athletes. For example in you have a bouncy ball with a sensor in it so the camera picks the ball up in space you are able to put a tennis racket on top of a quad and throw the ball in the air and the quad will go to the ball and hit it right back to you. This is because of algorithms. So far you Know that quads are able to work on their own but these things are able to also work as a team. If you have three quads all connected to a net so the quads are holding the net with the net hanging down you are able to throw a ball(with a sensor)in the air and the quads will catch it. Then the quads are able to all fly away from each other which straitens the net which shoots the ball out of the net. Bu the thing is that the quads are able to shoot the ball right back to you. The last thing is, quads are able to preform injured like some athletes do. Like how Michael Jordan got the job done when he had the flu in an NBA game. Well these quads can do something similar. So the quads have four rotors. If you cut two of them off the quad can get the job done. The quads instead of flying still the injured quad flies with a full body spinning motion. Even like this the quad can still move around in space. After I watched this video I thought that he did a great job with the presentation. He backed up his thesis for the fact that quad are athletic. The video was very entertaining and hard to only watch once. He showed what the quads could do and by doing that he showed many ways that the quads were athletic. To conclude, he did a great job with this presentation he provided great examples to support his thesis. I recommend watching this video. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. videoLink: http://www.ted.com/talks/raffaello_d_andrea_the_astounding_athletic_power_of_quadcopters. My name is Hunter Tozzi I go to WOHS, I'm in 9th grade, and I play volleyball. I have three sisters and no brothers. Right now education matters to me and that can change. I want to learn how to properly use a blog the right way and by the end I want to know how to use a blog with no error. I feel that doing this project will help me reach my goal.
